Delia Valenti Eveland, the Mom of 'The Scratching Post Cat Cafe' 

and all of the future Kitty residents has dreamed of this day

since she was a little girl. "After working in event planning,

non-profits in other countries, and many years in the food and

beverage industry, I decided it was time to really do something I

genuinely cared about and make a difference in our community!

With help from my husband Terry, the amazing Wilmington community,

friends, and family, I am finally able to purrrruse this dream!"

The Scratching Post Cat Cafe not only will we be able to enrich its visitor's life with the company of sweet, cuddly cats that are adoptable... The Cafe is also planning on having some of the freshest food and coffee in Wilmington. "I am hoping to partner up with local vendors and have a variety of vegetarian/vegan options as well as some fun dishes! Options for everyone!  We are also working with a local coffee shop back home in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, bringing you the best, boldest, most delicious coffee the highlands of Guatemala has to offer! The BEST part of this whole endevour is that my cafe will help find shelter cats a new home, and that just makes me so happy!"
